With pride I extend a warm welcome to the geographical Centre of Queensland and to Muttaburra State School.

We are a K-6 school that focusses on enriching the educational outcomes of all students in Muttaburra. We hold a strong partnership between the home and the school is vital for the provision of a successful educational program for children, I therefore invite you to participate in all aspects of our school curriculum, in our teaching programs, class activities, special events, school celebrations, Parents and Citizens Association activities and initiatives.

The school extends an invitation to geographically isolated students who attend Distance Education to participate in special school events. We believe in differentiated learning through inclusive and multi-age philosophies in a safe and supportive environment. Through the focus on teaching, learning and fusion of sustainability, technology and outback values we strive to become lifelong learners that respect, are responsible for and celebrate the diversity of our students, community and country.

Muttaburra State School is a sustainable learning community consisting of a teaching principal, teacher and support staff, students, parents and community members. Our school is one of several small schools in the Outback Advantage Alliance that work together on combined sports development, carnivals, student camps, and value a shared approach to individual student improvement through quality curriculum, teaching, assessment and reporting.

Honour Before Honours...  Respect - Responsibility - Lifelong Learning

Yours in education
